As a leading Waste Management company in the country, we see the push for recycling, firstly as our national duty to protect Bahrain’s environment and secondly as our humanitarian duty to protect the planet’s environment.
NIDUKKI started its recycling operations in November 2011 with a facility operational space of approximately 2500 m2. We are capable of tackling all pre- segregated recyclable waste. Our recycling operations provide two main advantages to our customers. It assists them with their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitment through contributing to the protection of Bahrain’s environment and it reduces their waste collection expenses.
Since the inception of our recycling division, we have been a contributing force to protecting our country’s environment. By doing so, we have also assisted our existing and new customers in diverting tons of recyclable waste away from landfill. By recycling all that material we have also saved tons of natural resources from being used as virgin material
Recycling one ton of paper saves 24-31 trees, 4000 kWh of energy, 1.7 barrels (270 liters) of oil, 26000 liters of water and 3.5 m3 of landfill space.
Recycling paper saves 65% of the energy needed to make new paper and also reduces water pollution by 35% and air pollution by 74%.
One ton of recycled plastic saves 5774 kWh of energy, 16.3 barrels (2604 liters) of oil and 22 m3 of landfill space.
There is an 80 to 90% reduction in energy consumption by producing recycled plastic compared with producing plastic from virgin materials (oil & gas)
One ton of recycled aluminium saves up to 8 tons of bauxite (main source of aluminium), 14000 kWh of energy, 40 barrels (6300 liters) of oil and 7.6 m3 of landfill.
Recycling aluminium uses 95% less energy than producing aluminium using raw materials.
